Continuous HARRASSING PHONE CALLS

We unfortunately purchased in 2005. We have had various issues, but the continuous HARRASSING phone calls are really starting to *** me off!

They have called 5 times today alone. First call came at 9:42am, 877-679-****. I didn't answer. Call two came at 3:46. I answered, but said nothing. They hung up and I blocked the number. Call three came at 3:47 from unknown number. I answered and told the woman I was not interested in an owners update or anything else. She proceeded to talk over me even though I told her if I needed anything, I would call them. I hung up. Calls four and five came both at 3:50, which I sent to voice mail. I then called corporate to make a complaint.

Since August 6th, they have called 10 times. I have asked to be removed from their list. I have hung up on them, blocked the number, and complained. I am so tired of Bluegreen, I could puke!

Never, ever buy from them! You'll be sorry if you do. They want you to do owners updates, which is where they promise you all kinds of stuff like free stays, visa gift cards, etc and then keep you there for three to four hours. Then when you've finally had enough of they're high pressure sales tactics and ask for your "free gift" they become even more rude and take a half hour to get your gift. Even pissy because you won't spend more money. Thank you, but I think 11 grand was plenty for what you've put us through Bluegreen. You harrass the *** out of us, you have embarrassed us in front of our guests, and treated us rudely at the one owners update we attended in 2006.

WASTE OF MONEY!!!!!!!!!

I was an owner of Bluegreen also. I had paid them over $22,000 in payments and fees.

never once was i able to book a room at the initial resort that i was

shown when i made this investment.

well i.decided that Bluegreen had received enough of my money so i quit paying them.

I found out that they have me listed as a foreclosure. Enough said because of this i was turned down for a refinance.

Any ideas??????

Bluegreen has always delivered what they promised to us.

We have been owners for 10 years at the silver level and have never had a bad experience at any of the resorts other than the high pressure sales pitch that is guaranteed if you do an owner update, which is not required. I fully understand the perception by many of the complainers that Bluegreen lied to them to get them to buy (and maybe they did?), but our experience has been that the sales people talk so fast that it is near impossible to grasp all that they are saying, and failing memories after the fact tend to complicate that problem. Recommendation: DEMAND that they talk more slowly, and do NOT let them intimidate you into feeling *** because you need to write down numbers and other data in order to make sure you are understanding the offer. We tend to be late planners, so it has sometimes been difficult to get exactly what we wanted, but I suspect that if we planned 13 months out like we are suppose to, that would not be the case. Without exception, every single Bluegreen facility we have stayed in has been clean, well decorated, and everything has worked that was suppose to work. Of the RCIs we have stayed in, only one was sub-par, but we got by OK anyway. One does have to wonder if the $22,000 initial investment, plus the annual $1400 in maintenance fees is really worth it, but after staying in places like this for 10 years, it is a real downer when we have to stay in a hotel. It is my understanding that non-owners have to pay something like $250 a night for some of these resorts. We pay nothing, and will someday be able to pass our ownership to our offspring, or sell it.

JMHO your math is not accurate as you are assuming that package only gets one week. In my experience that type of package is more like 3 weeks of vacation, so you should divide your $1400 fee by 21 nights not 7.

This would work out to more like $67 per night( the cost of a trash heap in most vacation destinations). If you include the purchase price of $22,000 over 30 years add another 35$ per night.

Please don't contribute to the misinformation that if given by people who dont understand the product. We love our Bluegreen for many of the same reasons as the above poster and I can assure you that I have gotten my value out of it.

Guest

As an owner as well the maintenance fees are well justified. You try going and staying in Aruba and tell me what you end up paying out of pocket for a night!?

My family stayed in a 3 bdrm ocean villa in Aruba that normally costs $800 a night x by 7 days that trip is over $5,600. The negative reviews on this product are dumb, just because you people dont know how to use the product to the fullest doesnt mean it cant save you money.

Guest

It is not 'free'. You are paying $200/night for a week when you take into consideration your $1400 annual dues.

If you add your $22,000 purchase price into it, that comes to $733/year for 30 years of use. So now your week is costing you $2133/year for a price of $304/day. Seems to me you'd be better off just paying out of pocket.

Timeshares do save you money when the price per night of the resort is over $400.

Bluegreen Resorts - Presentation Review from Hamilton, Hamilton

I was scammed by a blue green agent in the Florida Mall to take a presentation in exchange for gifts. After 3 hours of listening to a bunch of doubtful claims, we declined and all we got was a $50 visa. The vacation, cruise, theme park tickets are offered by another company and costs you money. This company has hundreds of complaints as well. Blugree is run by disciples of Satan.

LOL Nothing in life comes free. Don't expect free stuff without a catch.

We tell you up front we're going to ask you buy, at that point you say if it's okay or not.

People always say it's 'high pressure' because we ask you for the money, which like I said, we warn you in the beginning that we will ask you at the end for the money. Everyone likes what they see, unfortunately most people can't afford it.

Yes, I was approached in Bass Pro. I never felt like I was deceived.

I bought the sampler and looking forward to buying full membership really soon. I've been to 2 different facilities and absolutely love it.

Took friends and family and they love it too. I'm super Uber mega pleased.

The $99 weekend bait and switch

We get a call from a referal. Offering us, for $99 a 2 night ,three day stay in pigeon forge, Tn. Knowing the 90 sales pitch, we booked. When we recieved our packet, they would not inform us of where we would be staying till we "check in" at the welcome center. So, this went smoothly, then we were told the presentation woukd be 2 hours and got our hotel keys, (2 star). Nothing fancy, we were required to pay the taxes at check in. The next morning, we head to the preview center, not the actual resort. Sit through the 90, then they toss #s at you left and right. We all know the deal. 3 hrs later, we leave (not owners). And head for the gifting counter. We are given the choice of cruise, hotel, or condo. We chose the 7 night condo stay as our gift. Our "free" gift rrquires a $50 booking fee (must be paid up front when you mail in your request, non refundable)and up to $199 in resort fees and taxes when booking. Again, when you fill out the forms for the free gift vaca, they will not tell you where you are staying, only offer you a choice of locales.

Bluegreen Resorts - Sales Calls Review

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Blue green experience was horrible on two different vacations. We left 4 days early due to the constant sales calls at all hours on the second vacation. First vacation we were bothered till 11.00 pm about a leak at Big Cedar on room below. Never a moments peace. Complaining made no difference. Of forgot. The very first time had jack hammers outside our room at 8:00 in the morning. Total scam. They should be reported to some government agency on scams. Told management would call us about complaints. Never heard from them.

High Pressure Sales

The sales people seem to have all the answers to all questions, but be cautious. I told them no from the beginning and they tried ever trick in the book. The initial cost was $17,500 plus yearly maintenance fees. If you get a loan through them the annual percentage rate was almost 17 percent. No way would I do this and they were told at the end of the presentation. They will try everything to get you to sign. Also be careful on the enticements. They give you free cruises, but you have to pay $100.00 just to sign up for a cruise.

BlueGreen did exactly as they promised - sort of.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
We also signed up for a BlueGreen vacation at Bass Pro. When we made our reservation by phone, they did tell us that the Lodge at Shenandoah had been closed because of a fire, so we would be staying in one of the cottages. Having seen in their brochure how luxurious the cottages were, that seemed like a plus, not a minus, to us. However, when we arrived, late at night, the cottage to which we were assigned turned out to be one of those which was slated for renovation. Luxurious? Well, in the same sense that Motel 6 is luxurious, I guess! Nonetheless, lured by their promises of a wonderful deal, and wearied by a sales pitch that lasted far longer than the allotted two hours, we did sign up to become vacation owners. When we left the sales office, though, our feelings were far more that we had made a mistake than that we were excited about the experience to come. All of our concerns became even more heightened when we read the reviews in this web site. We decided to cancel the purchase within the legal 7 day timeframe allotted by Virginia law, and called BlueGreen to find out exactly how. By the third phone call, they did finally respond to our question, and we complied to the letter of their instructions. We are happy to say that the cancellation was carried out without any drama or fanfare - just a copy of our agreement mailed back stamped "Cancelled," with a receipt for our downpayment, and an acknowledgement from the credit card company that our account had been credited for the amount of the down payment. In sum, we feel that the BlueGreen vacation plan is not a scam - it may be the perfect plan for some people. Since we felt that it was not the best plan for us, we were very happy with the way BlueGreen lived up to their end of the agreement.

Bluegreen Resorts - Timeshare Review from New York, New York

I have three time shares! Two with Wyndham and one with RCI! They are not perfect! But I manage to use them all! So! I do not complain much! But Atlantic a Palace! Once Blue green resorts took over! They have messed up my maintenance pds! Consequently I was forced to give it back to them! Now, they have placed their lying despicable mark of foreclosure on my credit report! And although I pay all my bills on the time, including my three time shares! Today I could not go any further on being pre approved for a condo mortgage! This is how despicable this corporation is! To deal with them is absolute a mistake! Stay away from anything attached to this name!

Get everything in writing!

My husband and I weren't sure if Bluegreen was the right choice for us, so we signed up for the 'sample' program. We paid for 9,000 points and could supposedly do everything regular owners could do, with no committment to a timeshare. We later found out that we weren't allowed to vacation during the summer (which also includes the whole month of August) or holidays. It irritated me, but we just looked at going somewhere in September instead. We scheduled our vacation perfectly, I thought. I booked two hotels, carefully observing that we could stay twice as long. It wouldve been fine, but my husbands work decided they couldn't let him *** during that time. So we called and cancelled our reservations (which was another supposed perk of Bluegreen). We finally got the pass to book our vacation again and discovered we have half the points we paid for. We called and they told us they only cancelled one of our hotels. We told them it wasn't our fault and they said it was 'he said she said' and sorry about our luck! If they treat potential clients like this I can imagine how they treat you once they have all of your money!!!

Don't give in!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I agree with other reviewers who did not understand that "2-nights at the Big Cedar Lodge" is really 2-nights at "a really nice hotel" (their words). When I realized what was going to happen, I followed their instructions and wrote a cancellation letter (which must be done within 30 days). A rep called to ask why and, when I told her, she magically found a room for us on the grounds at Big Cedar. The room was beautiful, the grounds are astounding -- we had a great time. So, my advice is to hang tough when insisting on accommodations at the resort itself. Now, I have no experience with the other Bluegreen resorts, but the folks in Missouri were very kind ... in the end!

The worst thing i ever did!!!

We have been members since 2010 and it was the worst decision we ever made. It is all lies nothing that we were promised has happened. We can never get a room when or where we want and they tell you what a good investment this is and it is anything but. We HATE it, every time I try to use it I only get mad. I have never once be satisfied with Bluegreen. The couple of times we have used it we have been pressured to go to another sales meeting where we have been all but forced into buying more time and all I want is to get rid of the stuff I already have. So the best advice is to stay away

I've been a owner since 2001 and I get the same thing . You need to do what I do tell them your just here for your gift and give them a time limit of 1 br like the tell u when u check in. My family is on vacation now in Orlando staying at the fountain and they are nice and I had no problem booking.I will not ever up grade and give them any more money.

Guest

If you have a hard time getting into the resorts you want, you probably aren't booking early enough. They pretty much tell you, over and over again in my experience, that you need to book 13 months in advance in order to be able to guarantee you'll get where you want.

Also, some people end up under-purchasing for what they need in order to vacation where and when they want to. That's actually the biggest problems I've seen. Go on Facebook to the various non-Bluegreen sponsored pages and you can get some valuable information! There are very knowledgeable people on there who have been members for a very long time and can help you use your investment.

Believe me, I was ready to sell or even just give away our points because I as so frustrated but between a great sales rep at Laurel Crest in Pigeon Forge and all the help I've gotten on the Facebook pages I think I can make this work! Good luck to you!

Aggressive, unpleasant, unethical sales tactics

Blue Green Resort called me claiming that I won a vacation passage. After listening to the sales pitch they asked for my credit card number to "hold" the reservation.

I told the salesperson I did not feel comfortable giving my number over the phone. I wanted time to research the company as I had never heard of the resort before. THAT is when the call turned very unpleasant and upsetting. The salesperson got her manager on the phone with me.

When again I refused to give them my credit card number the man over the phone told me how people do this all the time and how reputable Blue Green was. The call ended with the manager hanging up on me. This was the most aggressive telemarketing phone call I have ever received and shame on the company for allowing their people to belittle consumers. I'd say their calls border on the line of unethical.

The telemarketing call came from 954-271-**** (FL) and I did not get the names of the sales people.

But whoever is calling from there should feel disgusted with themselves.

Wrong date on reservation?

We use our UDI timeshare at Shenandoah Crossing at the most one weekend per year. We are UDI owners - bought before Bluegreen acquired it. We pay horrendous maintenance fees each year. In August we called for a fall reservation. We talked about possible dates and settled on 9/26&27. Arrived here tonight (9/26) and were told our reservation was for 10/31! How they got that wrong is a "mystery". First they sent us to a cabin that was already occupied (yes, the key worked and we were able to walk in on the people!) and after that episode told us that they did not have an appropriate cabin for us. We had to settle for a smaller cabin with fewer amenities or else "they couldn't do anything for us." Getting decent service seems to be an ongoing problem for UDI owners here. If you are one, how have you dealt with it? I find their business practices unethical (this is not the first negative experience with them.) I want to change that if possible but it will take the power of numbers, I believe. Write us at malontwo@***.com. Thanks!
