I own a timeshare and was on vacation and listened to their lecture about upgrading. We of course declined because we are content with the timeshare we have.

After we said no they discussed a Bluegreen Rewards Encore Credit Card. They promoted saying that if I use it on Bluegreen items I can get discounts, I also could pay my maintenance fees with this card. It seemed like a good idea at the time so I said yes. Months passed and I was not using their credit card because I didn't need to.

Then I got this letter promoting 0% for transferring debts until March 2017. I called and spoke with someone who stated I could transfer my credit card debt from Discover with 0% until March 2017. They then told me since my credit was so good they were offering 0% on all my future purchases. No interest until March 2017.

When I heard that pitch I figured it was too good to be true so I questioned it and gave examples such as going to restaurants or purchasing clothes items. They responded with yes all purchases will not be charged interest until March 2017. I thought to myself okay this is great especially since I just recently got a divorce and was in the process of purchasing my own home. Due to my divorce I had to start all over again.

I needed everything you would need for a new home and then the home needed renovations. I put everything on the card and then I got my second statement, they charged me interests on all of my purchases. The first statement I received was false and made it look like there was no interest being charged so I would purchase items. I currently have an $8,000 debit with an interest of 14.24%.

Granted, I know that I made those purchases, however I thought I had until March 2017 to pay it off before the interest stated. It was a total lie. I called and they reported that they would have never told me that and there was nothing they could do but if I paid half the bill the interest would stop. I am a single mother of a 3 year old, recently divorced from a marriage of 13 years, having to start all over and I have a full time job, they totally got me and now I'm drowning in debit.

My monthly payments was only paying the interest rate and not the balance. So I had to go to a bank and borrow money to payoff this *** card. I called the company for a payoff and requested they send me an email with the current balance. They said they couldn't and that I would have to make a request which would take 7 to 10 days.

This is a joke! I hope that people actually read this because I don't want anyone to be lied to and deceived like I was. Please, if you have this credit card call and cancel it.

It was cause you nothing but stress and heartache.

Reason of review: Problems with payment.
